FEDSTAR - Grant Application under the ”Drug Prevention and Information” Programme (2007-2013)

In April 2009 FESAT applied for funding under the ”Drug Prevention and Information” Programme (The European Commission Directorate-General Justice, Freedom and Security. ”Drug Prevention and Information” Programme (2007-2013). Grant Application, Specific Transnational Projects, (JLS/2008/CFP/DPIP/2008-2/AG)). Our submission was entitled FEDSTAR (Foundation of European Drug Helplines Strategies Towards Avoiding and Reducing drug related harm). We submitted a strong application with 7 Partners (each pledging €3000) and 12 Associate Partner organisations from the FESAT network.

Our proposal had 3 aspects: Establishing a quality standard and training seminar on Online and Mobile Helpline support services; the development of a European Ethical Charter for Drug Helplines towards minimising drug related harm and also devising a Best Practice model for recording and evaluating data generated from calls. These topics were identified by FESAT members and they remain relevant.

In November we received confirmation that our submission was unsuccessful. We hope to submit further applications again in the future.
